Pia to Miss Universe bets: You're lucky pageant was held in PH

MANILA -- Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach took pride in the Philippines' performance as hosts of the 65th year of the pageant as she told candidates on Friday how "lucky" they were to experience Filipino hospitality at its finest.

"When I competed in Vegas, we just stayed in Vegas. Here you're competing in Manila but you get to go around the Philippines. When you go back home, you can really say, 'Hey, I've been around the Philippines,'" Wurtzhbach told the 86 Miss Universe hopefuls during a luncheon with sponsors at a hotel in Makati.

In less than two weeks since their arrival in Manila, Miss Universe contestants were flown to different parts of the country, including Boracay, Vigan, Cebu, Baguio, and Davao, in a bid to promote the country's top tourist destinations.

The reigning "most beautiful girl in the universe" also reminded candidates to make the most of their stay in the country and to enjoy the experience as much as they can.
"Make friends, take a lot of pictures because you can only join once," Wurtzbach said.

"It's a little bit tiring and I know you probably don't get enough sleep anymore but it's okay," she added.
