Tots Carlos leads all scorers after Week 1

Reigning Most Valuable Player Tots Carlos emerged as the league’s top spiker after the opening week of the 2023 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference.

The 24-year-old opposite spiker from Lubao, Pampanga, topped the spiking category with a 59.66 percent efficiency while placing second in the scoring list with a total of 39 points.

Carlos had a 24-point outing in the Cool Smashers' opening-day win against Chery Tiggo before scoring a game-high 15 points against the new team Gerflor.

Choco Mucho's Sisi Rondina came in second in the spiking department, converting 46.67 percent of her attacks to lead the Flying Titans to a hot 2-0 start in Group B. The former UST star is also fifth in scoring with 33 markers.

Jonah Sabete of Petro Gazz, meanwhile, is the third most efficient spiker with a 43.75 success rate. Sabete ranked fourth in scoring with 36 points.

PVL games resumes on Tuesday with a four-game slate at the Philsports Arena.

In the morning games, Petro Gazz and Farm Fresh will open up the day at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Cignal-Foton clash at 12:00 p.m.

Meanwhile in the afternoon session, Akari takes on Chery Tiggo at 4:00 p.m., while F2 Logistics and Choco Mucho will fight for the number one spot in Group B at 6:30 p.m.
