WATCH: Pia Wurtzbach's final walk as Miss Universe

MANILA – Pia Wurtzbach did her final walk as Miss Universe 2015 in her home country on Monday, moments before Miss France Iris Mittenaere was crowned winner.

The Filipina-German beauty queen said she feels at ease as she passes on her Miss Universe crown because it is given to a “very deserving winner.”

“I’m very happy with the results… I know that we really chose a deserving winner,” she said in an interview with fellow Filipina Venus Raj, who won fourth runner-up in Miss Universe 2010.

Wurtzbach will continue to work closely with the Miss Universe Organization even after her reign.

“I don’t really feel like it’s the end of a reign, more like the beginning of a new chapter,” she said.
